Deafened.

Hey! Back at you after another insaaaaaane show!!! Friday night, Dieselboy and Excision absolutely KILLED it at Gotcha's nightclub!!!! PK Sounds came in and delivered an immense 50,000 Watt Boom Machine in a tiny 500 seating venue!!! I heard a rumour there was even a glass railing shattered on the second floor of the venue! (Could be from drunk dude... could be from bass dude!) What a killer show though, and  I mean some serious business! Over 650 shots were taken that night, and I even got to test out some new techniques without using my secure light control mechanisms!!! I'll post a few of my favs below! Upcoming events are:

Footwerk Events Presents- Footwerk Loves Fresh Meat V2- All Newbie Line-up, Supporting Fresh! @ Oasis

Footwerk Shuffle!

Been really busy the last few weeks, I haven't had much time to post a new blog!! So I thought I would right away! Things are going pretty well these days, somehow managing to balance my life with some success. Last weekend Footwerk invited the  DJ Duo from Calgary to come play at Oasis, and it was a total SMASH!!!! People were laughing, flailing, spilling drinks, dancing like no other! It was epic on all levels. Here is a few pics that I are loved:

So next weekend is the next Footwerk event: Freakshow; Featureing Longwalk Shortdock w/ Rim Visuals!
@ Oasis Nightclub 236 Leon  Ave, Kelowna.

10.10.10.

Fact: October 2010 has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays, and 5 Sundays all in the same month! Not an often occurrence, and the next one won't happen until 2021!

Lots happening this month. Oct 8th, we finally finished up the Gothic shoot that had been in planning for what seemed like months now! Here's a couple of the images for you to enjoy:

You can see the rest of the images from the shoot on my facebook page.
Chase Jarvis is also starting an interesting project, hailing photographers/videographers to capture the Human Experience today, and share it with others from around the world. I have decided to capture this as my entrance: I call it , "Curiosity". I went downtown to City Park, and walked around, looking for life to show me what it's experience was going to be today. I watched the runners from the local marathon run, kids play, people who live on the streets ask for change, a man painting a flower, tourists take pictures, and then it happened. Oddly enough, as I was looking at everything else to show it to me, it was happening right behind me, from my own daughter! As she was being the inquisitive little girl that she is, she found this tree stump, and was fascinated by its contours, and smooth shapes. She paced around it a few turns, and decided that it was a tree worth telling me about.

It's almost always the same, when I look for something outward, I always end up finding it inward. As it turns out, I do not have to look far to see the human experience at all!!!

Big news for some upcoming events I am stoked to be a part of!!! Footwerk Productions is throwing a couple wicked parties! Featuring Piranha on the 23rd, and the Freakshow halloween bash! Looks like I might be their new house photographer! So come out to Oasis Nightclub and check it out!!! Here's a couple of the pics from Friday's, FLYDJS show they put on!

Photogg Blogg Deuce

Hey, so it's been an eventful past few days. I got some really great news on some upcoming opportunities to shoot! A buddy from high school is DJ'ing, and I haven't actually got to see him spin in... i don't know! Stoked for that! Friday night I get to finally piece together this Gothic shoot with a good friend/Model Amberlee! Right after that I got to race back to town to shoot the FLYDJ's show at Oasis. Then I get to shoot one of my fav DJ's, Excision in the first week of November! Some amazing stuff coming up, I think it's going to be a blast!
BASSWAVE -Van Tek, Mode,Vaxxine, Grizz Lee - Thursday Night, Grateful Fed. 8pm it starts.

Today I got to test out some new DOF (depth of field) methods shot. I used my bestest model ever, Faith... yes ok, a little biased.. Here's one of my newest shots with her, lol such a trooper....

I've attempted to learn the Brenizer Method of shooting, but apparently I really need a lot more practice... Good! I will post a link to his site, that explains this method, to give the credit where its due!

Well, I think thats good for today, until next time, I should have some more amazing Bokeh photos under my belt.

Cheers
Chris

Day Zero.

Whats up? Well here I am, curving myself into a new avenue. After being completely obsessed on what the world is doing with photography, I thought I would share my experiences with whom ever wants to learn as well. I've been truly blessed to have the opportunity to learn from others experiences, so I thought it's only fair for me to give back what was freely given to me.

We live in a world of technology today. It's definitely no secret, that's for sure. It's a world filled with instant gratifications, high expectation reward systems, and the ability to move on almost immediately if one is not satisfied. For photographers, this proves to be quite the challenge to live up to. Or so I thought.

I definitely do not consider myself professional, or a high-end photog yet. But I can put my self in the same class as them in another way. Passion, determination, obsession. I know all the greats of All in the world share these traits in common.  I believe that I can achieve any level of creativity I want, I just need to find it, and let it free once I do. The reality of this is very true to me, because only a few months ago, I didn't think I had any sort of artistic talent at all. I wasn't aware of any natural talents I had, my mind just hadn't been open to them yet. Isn't it interesting as little as we understand about our minds, that we get to experience new paradigms at almost any given time. A change in beliefs, or new design. Today, I get to explore my mind, creativity, passion, and express myself in any way I want. I would like to share with you some of my motivators, and inspirations.

First off, my biggest motivator, and inspiration is of course my daughter- Faith. She's the most amazing person I've ever met, and continually shows me how to love, and be loved. She shows me how to be truthful, and honest at the most basic levels of life. She shows me how to express what is true to her, and that alone is a gift. For those of you that have not had the pleasure to meet her, she just turned 3, in September.

Secondly, I would like to share with you my photog inspirations. They are not in any specific order, and each has their own specific meaning to me. I would like to first introduce a friend Teegan, who first inspired me to pick up my first camera. She's an amazing person, full of interesting. I would then like to mention the "others".
Teaghan McGinnis - of MSM Photography. A local, youngster who has become quite well established on his own accord...without going to school or anything. He did it because it was his passion. For those of you that know him, we all know he is going to go very far in this industry. Gregory Heisler, Zach Arias, Douglas Sonders, Christopher Albury, and BenI have all been great help in giving me some great new angles to persue. Check them out, they all produce some amazing work!

Anyways, I have wrote enough for my first blog. Hopefully you have found it semi-interesting and will come back at the next post! I will try keep them often enough, with updates on the behind the scenes of some of the upcoming shoots... Like this weeks Spanish Import, Gothic Amberlee, and the big project of the Kill Room shoot.... Very excited for some of the upcoming plans. I really hope I get to shoot some more parties soon! Anyways,
I'll leave you off with one of my favourite pictures I have ever taken. It was also on the first night I ever owned a DSLR, so it truly holds some meaning to me.

Cheers
